The Field: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe
by Lynne McTaggart
A book which gives scientific proof of the paranormal. Psychic activity, remote viewing, the power of prayer and homoeopathy are all discussed. The energy found in the vacuum - or the zero point field - seems to be the key to all sorts of unexplained phenomena: ESP or remote viewing, homeopathy, energy medicine, spiritual healing, and even the homing instincts of animals. Lynne McTaggart follows the life and work of disparate physicists, pioneers in the area where the paranormal meets quantum physics.

THE INTENTION EXPERIMENT: USE YOUR THOUGHTS TO CHANGE THE WORLD
by LYNNE MCTAGGART
In The Intention Experiment, Lynne McTaggart, author of the international bestseller The Field, joins forces with a team of international, renowned scientists to test the effects of focused group intention on scientifically quantifiable targets - animal, plant and human. The Intention Experiment is a truly revolutionary book that invites you, the reader, to take part in the greatest intention experiment in history. The results of McTaggart's 'global laboratory' started with the focused intention that made a geranium leaf glow to evidence to show that group intention is powerful enough to affect targets more than 5000 miles away and may even affect global warming. These remarkable results prove human thought and intention has the power to focus our lives, heal our illnesses, clean up our communities and improve the planet. This book also shows you how to harness that power to make changes in your own life.

Entangled Minds: Extrasensory Experiences in a Quantum Reality
by Dean Radin
A fascinating, yet-unexplained scientific phenomenon shows that individual objects in the universe are not quite as separate as they seem. Once two objects interact, they remain connected in space and time in what Einstein called 'spooky action at a distance.' Could the same interaction explain psychic occurrences? Psychic researcher Dean Radin argues that human minds are likely interconnected or entangled in the same way, and this interconnected fabric of reality is the key to those puzzling yet profoundly meaningful experiences called psychic phenomena. ENTANGLED MINDS shows how science has rigorously demonstrated genuine psychic effects and why these phenomena are the next frontier in understanding who and what we are.

Image of The Noetic Universe
The Noetic Universe
by
The publication of Dan Brown's latest international bestseller, "The Lost Symbol", introduced the world to a fascinating new concept: 'noetics'. Now, in this rigorously reasoned manifesto, Dean Radin, Senior Scientist at the Institute for Noetic Sciences, explains the new science of noetics and how this exciting new field of research is set to change the way we view the world forever. "The Noetic Universe" provides astonishing answers to universal questions by unveiling persuasive empirical evidence for the existence of psychic phenomena - from telepathy and clairvoyance to jinxes and prayer. Dean Radin shatters the myths that surround parapsychology, revealing the extent to which corporations, governments and academia have embraced it, and exploring what the effects will be when - inevitably - mainstream science and society embrace it as well.

The Conscious Universe: The Scientific Truth of Psychic Phenomena
by Dean Radin
Radin draws from his own work at Princeton, Stanford Research Institute, and Fortune 500 companies, as well as his research for the U.S. government, to demonstrate the surprising extent to which the truth of psi has already been tacitly acknowledged and exploited. "The Conscious Universe" also sifts the data for tantalizing hints of how mind and matter are linked. Finally, Radin takes a bold look ahead, to the inevitable social, economic, academic, and spiritual consequences of the mass realization that mind and matter can influence each other without having physical contact.

by Bruce H. Lipton Ph.D.
Through the research of Dr. Lipton and other leading-edge scientists, stunning new discoveries have been made about the interaction between your mind and body and the processes by which cells receive information. It shows that genes and DNA do not control our biology, that instead DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell, including the energetic messages emanating from our thoughts. Using simple language, illustrations, humour, and everyday examples, he demonstrates how the new science of Epigenetics is revolutionizing our understanding of the link between mind and matter and the profound effects it has on our personal lives and the collective life of our species.

Image of The Real Wealth of Nations: Creating a Caring Economics
The Real Wealth of Nations: Creating a Caring Economics
by Riane Tennenhaus Eisler
Accomplished feminist social theorist and activist Eisler follows up her 1987 international bestseller The Chalice and the Blade with an inquiry into the nature and causes of "the real wealth of nations" in a contrarian work of grand economic theory. She begins with her original thesis: that we inherit and inhabit a personal and social world that masculinity has built by consistently devaluing and subordinating the feminine. Pointing out the socially and ecologically destructive flaws inherent in both capitalist and socialist economies, she then asserts that our emerging global society needs a new story of what human nature and economics are and can be. For Eisler, economies are social inventions imbedded in larger social systems. She offers a clearly written and compelling account of how the masculine "dominator" mentality brought us to our present juncture, and how a feminine "partnership" mentality can help us redefine key concepts such as "value" and "needs." Citing the most recent economic data and offering numerous relevant examples of places where efforts to practice a caring economics have succeeded both in preindustrial and modern societies, such as the Nordic nations, the book is ambitious in breadth, depth and scope. Eisler delivers another impressive work that's remarkably well referenced, well argued, insightful and hopeful.

The Chaos Point: The World at the Crossroads
by Ervin Laszlo
We have a choice: Breakdown or Breakthrough. Revered author and systems theorist Ervin Laszlo provides a concise yet encompassing overview of the present world situation, showing where we are, and how we got here. Where we are, Laszlo tells us, is at a critical juncture in history, a 'decision-window' where we face both the danger of global collapse and the opportunity of worldwide renewal. According to Laszlo we have six to seven years to head off unsustainable trends that would lead to a 'tipping point' beyond which there is no turning back. After this tipping point we either evolve to a safer, more sustainable world, or the social, economic and ecological systems that frame our life break down. This is the Chaos Point, but this need not be the end of the world, only the end of a phase of the world beyond which a new world could dawn. In today's decision-window we have a unique chance of creating that new world and this pioneering book tells us what healing and renewal means, and how each of us can help in achieving it.

Image of The Structure of Scientific Revolutions
The Structure of Scientific Revolutions
by Thomas S. Kuhn
Thomas Kuhn (1922-1996) argued that scientific advancement is not evolutionary, but rather is a "series of peaceful interludes punctuated by intellectually violent revolutions", and in those revolutions "one conceptual world view is replaced by another". The University of Chicago Press has released The Structure Of Scientific Revolutions to the benefit of all students of the history of science, philosophy, and the impact of science on society (and society on the development of science). If ever there were a true classic on the history and development of science that is "must" reading for each new generation, it is Kuhn's benchmark work, The Structure Of Scientific Revolutions.

Image of Ever Present Origin: Part One: Foundations Of The Aperspectival World (Englis Series, No 1)
Ever Present Origin: Part One: Foundations Of The Aperspectival World (Englis Series, No 1)
by Jean Gebser
The central contribution of this book is Gebser's analysis of the history of culture -- mainly but not exclusively Western culture -- in terms of the predominance of different modes of consciousness. Gebser details five structures of consciousness: the archaic, the magical, the mythical, the mental, and the integral (or aperspectival). His theory seems to be that these structures unfold in a sequential but non-linear fashion (i.e. in quantum increases in the self-transparency of consciousness), and have different kinds of characteristic ways of experiencing self, other, and world. With each leap, the previous structures of consciousness are superceded and yet retained in a subordinate fashion. Meanwhile, the other structures lie largely latent and untapped.

Image of After the Clockwork Universe: The Emerging Science and Culture of Integral Society
After the Clockwork Universe: The Emerging Science and Culture of Integral Society
by Sally, J. Goerner
We are in the midst of the most dramatic cultural shift in three hundred years. This book explains why great change is simmering in all facets of our civilization, from economics and politics to science and spirituality. Our inherited concept of a mechanistic world -- a clockwork universe -- is giving way and the vision of a web world is rising to take its place. Goerner explains the new and profound rethinking emerging across modern science, from anthropology to physics. The author then weaves current realities into these new scientific insights to create a fascinating vision of history and science progressing through upheavals and rebirths to the present day. Humankind too, is bound into the patterns and processes of this web world, and Goerner describes the already visible signs of an emerging Integral Society in which head, heart and soul need no longer be at odds. Integral culture has the potential to build a more sustainable and peaceful civilization. Yet, all great change comes as a result of pressure and the author warns that our present social and economic systems are already becoming unstable. If we do not integrate the core lessons of the web world -- learning, collaboration, and intricacy -- into our ways of life, we face the specter of collapse.

The Quark and the Jaguar: Adventures in the Simple and the Complex
by Murray Gell-Mann
Gell-Mann, a Nobel Prize-winning theoretical physicist and a pioneer in the science of complexity, here examines that important concept, focusing on complex adaptive systems. Such systems are capable of learning and are able to adapt or evolve successfully. The intricate processes used by a child to learn a language, for example, constitute a complex adaptive system, as do the processes used by bacteria to develop resistance to drugs. These systems provide a context or framework for a stimulating discussion of quantum mechanics and the unified theory. Gell-Mann also explores topics such as natural selection, species diversity, and the evolution of human culture in relation to complex adaptive systems. While the topics are technical in nature, Gell-Mann's presentation is clear and will be readily understood by scholars and informed lay readers. Recommended for academic and larger public libraries.

The Radiance of Being: Understanding the Grand Integral Vision : Living the Integral Life (Omega Book (New York, N.Y.).)
by Allan Combs
Here is a very exciting book, reflecting a very exciting time in the exploration of consciousness and evolution. With the possible exception of the rise of the great Idealist movements two centuries ago, today is the most gripping period of research in consciousness that we have ever seen. For the first time in history we have access to almost all accumulated information about human consciousness and its potential. Zen Buddhism, shamanism, body/mind disciplines, the great contemplative traditions, mysticism, and many more have given us an extraordinary map of human consciousness based on direct meditative experience, right up to contemporary marvels of scientific research, giving the enquiring mind an all-inclusive model of human consciousness and its unfolding.

William James : Writings 1902-1910 : The Varieties of Religious Experience / Pragmatism / A Pluralistic Universe / The Meaning of Truth / Some Problems of Philosophy / Essays (Library of America)
by William James
The great philosopher and psychologist William James (1842 -- 1910) is best-known as the founder, with C.S. Peirce and John Dewey, of the distinctively American philosophy of pragmatism. James is that indeed, but he is much more as well. This volume of the Library of America series consists of five books and nineteen essays by James written between 1902 and 1910. (A separate Library of America volume includes James's earlier writing, including "Psychology, A Briefer Course" and the essay "The Will to Believe".) The volume will give the reader a feeling for the breadth of James's philosophical, scientific, and religious concerns. The volume is edited by Professor Bruce Kuklick of the University of Pennsylvania who has written extensively about James and about the history of American philosophy. In this volume, Kuklick provides an unusually thorough chronology of James's life to accompany James's texts.
