Follow Your Passion

Are you passionate about what you do in life?

In The Attractor Factor, Dr. Joe Vitale cites a study where a group of 1,500 people were given the option of joining two groups. Group A was a group of people who were going to pick a career they believed was going to be a practical way to make a lot of money and then they were going to follow their passions after they made enough money.

1,255 people joined Group A.

Group B was a group of people who were going to pick a career that they were interested in and passionate about and just trust that the money would come. Only 245 people joined Group B.

20 years later there were 101 millionaires out of the 1,500 people who signed up for the study. 100 of the millionaires came from group B: the group of people who followed their passions and just trusted that the money would come.

Only 1 out of the 1,255 people who picked a career because they believed it was a practical way to make a living actually became a millionaire.

This study shows that you do not need to have a plan or know how you are going to make money by following your passion. All you need to do is to follow your passion.

If you’re not yet following your passion, what are your questions, concerns, fears about giving up everything to follow your passion?  What’s holding you back?

I’ll shortly be offering a conference call where we discuss the questions raised here.  Please leave your thoughts, comments and ideas as a comment below.  I’ll let you know as soon as we have a date confirmed.

Hi Michael…this is only to say congratulations on leaving your corporate job!
Quite a decision for you! I followed my passion and am loving life! I saw a
small opportunity to do what I loved and am now feeling like a millionaire!
Even my bank balance tells me I am doing it right! :) :) But having the extra
money is not the only richness in my life…I am so content and blissful that all
that comes my way in life is viewed as a gift! I feel truly blessed.

First Congrats Micheal. I left my job two years ago to do just what you have now done. The money has not reached me yet and I am sure it is there somewhere. However I am doing my passion. There have been so many obsticals and even though there is such a need for what I am doing(talking to kids about gangs and bullying in the schools) it is still a pioneering work. I have had many successes with the kids. My book is just about written, documentary finnished and movie ready for production so life is about to take me on many adventures. Good travelling on your new adventure Micheal.

Oh My Word … I love the article. FANTASTIC….. Im still trying to find my way. My passion is my Art ( fine Art ) … but i have found it really difficult to get my mind around the concept that I can make money by doing my Art. Confidence to take the risk is what I lack . Confidence to know that Im good enough & that people will want to pay money for my passion. My own fear has kept me from this….. & so the result is ive done this & that without much success. Currently I have my own very small Olive Soap & Bath products company…. but its a struggle. Its kind of a passion…… but the truth be told …Id rather be Painting , creating & teaching . The article says ” All you have to do is follow your passion ” My rational mind somehow holds me back from taking the plunge , the risk… the fear of rejection scenario.
..I love the concept of Noetic Business . This world needs people who think out of the box. I have a brother who, too , thinks out of the box, rattles cages with new & unusual ways of seeing business done. Many things need drastic & radical re- thinking. Strength to you.

    Thanks Michael, nicely put.
I also believe that to follow your passion is the most positive and effective gift you can give yourself. I also think that the ability to have trust as far as the finances are concerned comes with knowing yourself, your true skills and value to the world. If your passion is aligned with your true skills, then people see the value and value is money.

Michael, Congats that you quitted your corp job. I hope you will start looking for the natural solutions for you to remove the evil nanochips you were deceptively implanted in the brain and heart, through modern foods,m drinks and synthetic medicines.
My ultimate concern is not to be contaminated by evil nanochips, so as not to let Satan got hold in my brain and heart cells, that is, to be able to be controlled through thoughts and emotions. Our human body was naturally designed by God in the beginning, and the interruption of Satan with Eve which resulted to the Birth of Cain led to the deterioration of Planet earth until it will be reversed back to its original status. Human body is just like the Earth itself, having all the elements, metalic and non-metallic ones, present in the whole universe. The difference, actually, is that Earth spins and one direction only, and the human can make a all angled 360 degree turns on his existence, which caused by the wild animal hormones infused into Eve, which resuted to theevil or shortcircuited lineage of Cain. But God, thru Seth' godly lineage, the 2nd pure and godly son of Adam and Eve, has maintained, though intercrossed with Cain's lineage, godly children of God kept on coming out within family branches to this date and until the end of the evil world, and that's the whole Salvation Plan of God simply and plainly revealed and explained to any ordinary Bible-reading mind who may read this.
The best thing to do is to balance our existence, physical-wise and spiritual-wise, so as to maintain our harmonious relationship, inner-self-wise, with the True and Living God. Who is the Owner of the Whole Universe. Stan, on the other side, is the owner oif the existing evil world but constantly on check by Inner Core of the Earth, which Satan has not infected. That's why satan has but a short time now that the end of the evil world is nearing: THE GREAT TIME OF TRIBULATION WILL SOON START IN ODER FOR TO FILTER HIS MINORITY CHILDREN FROM THE EVIL NANO-CHIPPED MAJORITY. THEY ARE THE REMNANTS OF SETH'S LINEAGE WHO BRANCHED OUT OF THE CRISSCROSSED LINEAGES OF CAIN AND SETH.
    GOD SPEED, MICHAEL.

    Thank you, jimmandelin.

I suspect that you will find once your book is written and 'out there', things will change for you. Generally speaking, your idea needs to build a following before a business can be really successful.

I do recommend this post by Seth Godin on spreading your ideas:

I so agree with this, Phil – thank you for posting.

I've also learned to stop asking 'How' – just throw energy into following your passion and the Universe responds. Awesome stuff…

    vincebon,

I agree with so much of what you say, except for the meme you have chosen to use to convey your beliefs.

    Hey caroline,

People with artistic skills absolutely must follow their passion – imagine how dismal the world would be without creative streaks!

However, and this is a big but, the sad reality is that true art (as opposed to art produced purely for commercial purposes) is discounted as one of life's necessities and therefore never generates a meaningful income. I believe the trick is to find a way of funding your passion until the message behind your passion carries your business forward. I'll be covering much more of this in an upcoming webinar – I hope you can join.
